Assistive Technology Advocate Assistant

General Description:
The Assistive Technology Advocate Assistant is responsible for greeting consumers, conducting an assessment of the consumer’s need for adaptive equipment and/or assistive technology, providing information, linkage and referral, and demonstrating adaptive equipment and assistive technology. The Assistive Technology Advocate Assistant is also responsible for facilitating the completion of loan paperwork, ensuring the return of loaned equipment, ensuring the cleaning and disinfection of returned equipment, maintaining an accurate equipment inventory, and providing outreach.

High School Diploma required. Must have a working knowledge of durable medical equipment, developmental and adaptive equipment, assistive technology, reasonable accommodations, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, be able to lift 50lbs, and be computer literate (Microsoft Office and related programs). In addition, must be highly organized and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a proven ability for creative problem-solving, and experience providing services to individuals with disabilities.

Salary Range:
$13/hr 37.5 hours a week for three months (June, July, August 2019)
